Ready and waiting to go in!

We were lucky enough to have booked two slots with Jenny Wren Farm for the children to have 20 minutes handling some beautiful animals. There were baby chicks that had only been born that morning, rabbits, guinea pigs and mice. Every child sat beautifully still and held the animals so gently, that many a lovely photo was taken!

We all meet for lunch after a morning of looking at all sorts of birds, including the lovely pengiuns – and many an ice-cream was brought and enjoyed too!

Picnic Time!

Every child left Birdworld happy, smiling, and perhaps a little tired, but the ladies of Brookside that made the day happen, looked like they could have done it all again! Thank you ladies, the day would not have been as wonderful if it wasn’t for you!

Please can we all remember to lather our little ones up with sun cream before going to preschool, this weather has been burning!

Please send children in with hats, t-shirts and/or shorts, skirts or trousers as the garden area is a little sun trap!

Sunday 13th June from 10.30-3.30 there will be Miller’s Ark farm animals, working horses, falconry displays, birdbox making, local wildlife groups, RBC recycling information. Last year’s event attracted over 500 visitors and the Greenway Group are hoping for similar numbers this year!

So Parents we are looking for help! Can you spare time during the day to come help man the refreshments stall? Can you bake a couple of cakes for the famous cake stall to sell?

Lesley will be armed with a pen and paper at the door of preschool this week for you to sign up to a time slot…we don’t expect anyone to give up the whole day, just 30 minutes will be fab! All money from the refreshment stall will go into our fund-raising total for the pre-school!

With the help of everyone’s teddy bear’s (children and staff alike) the morning was full of fun, laughter and excitement

The morning was made even more enjoyable by a visit from the Mad Academy, there were bubbles, songs and giggles glore!

Wonderful Ladies of Brookside

The children had a lovely morning, and sat down with their packed lunches to all enjoy the picnic together!

The afternoon was made complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny – Everyone went home with a rather yummy chocolate egg!

Lesley and the rest of the ladies all brought their own teddy bears along for the morning to join in the fun!

Hopefully the children will soon be coming home and telling you of the fun they have had at the allotment!

The award programme, which is supported by Prima Baby & Pregnancy magazine, is now in its fourth year and celebrates the best activities across the UK, as nominated and voted for by parents.

This year, the awards are bigger than ever, covering 13 different categories ranging from Best National Pre-Schooler Activity to Most Outstanding Community Group Volunteer for children.

From 8th March to end of April 2010, parents can log onto any of the award winning on-line directories – www.whatson4littleones.co.uk, www.whatson4schoolkids.co.uk and www.whatson4kidsparties.co.uk – to vote for their favourite clubs, groups, classes and party entertainers from all of the nominees that have qualified.

The winners of the awards will be announced on 27th June 2010 at the Baby Expo Brighton and presented with their award certificate by Phil Gallagher from Cbeebies Mister Maker and the winners of the community awards will also receive prizes for their groups!
